City Plate - Mumbai

Special Price $15.00 Regular Price $50.00
Part of our fifth series of City Plates. This collection celebrates "Visionary Thinking" and takes a look at four great cities (Paris, Chicago, Montréal, and Mumbai), examining the past, present, and future of innovative architecture and design.

With an estimated population of 13.5 million, Mumbai (formerly Bombay) is one of the most populous cities in the world.  The Mumbai plate stands as one of the most arresting designs in our collection, depicting the product of major feats of civil engineering that merged an archipelago of islands into an amalgamated mass of activity.  Featured landmarks (shown in persimmon) include the tony Malabar Point, Gateway of India, and Taj Majal Palace hotel along the Mumbai Harbor, which stretches out into the dramatic blue swath of the Arabian Sea.

• Key buildings are represented with persimmon icons, while rivers and public spaces are shown in blue and green, respectively
